The Challenge

That was the challenge and the opportunity behind Shaping CT’s Future, an event series produced by Rebellion Group. The series is a platform to unite thought leaders, entrepreneurs, creatives, and innovators from across the state to collaborate on the future of Connecticut.

When Bryn Tindall, CEO of Rebellion Group, approached HB Live, it was clear this was more than just an event. It was a movement. One that needed world-class execution to match its bold vision.

Rebellion Group’s goal was to host a series of events, each focused on a key industry or theme shaping Connecticut’s economic future.

From Panel Talk to Full Broadcast Experience

Building on success

What began as a simple in-person event grew into something far more ambitious.

HB Live proposed capturing and streaming the content. The client agreed, and so began the transformation.

At every step, HB Live provided technical advice, creative production support, and event strategy guidance, helping the client level up the experience while staying true to their mission.

Initially, it was a basic AV setup to support a keynote and a panel discussion; no cameras, no stream, no recording. But we saw the opportunity right away.

Dual-stream execution: A live event plus a concurrent stream to the Fox61 News app.
Simultaneous podcast production from a separate studio during event breaks.
Adapting venues like Foxwoods to feel fresh and inviting, avoiding the typical “ballroom look”.

Room aesthetics and lighting: Using color, stage lighting, and layouts to encourage networking and connection.
Planning and tech infrastructure: Rigorous site visits, Q&A sessions, and collaborative planning to get it right.

In-Room Production

Create engaging presentation space while leaving room for sponsor networking.
Design a layout for the live podcast that takes advantage of the backdrop.
Make the AV unobtrusive so guests can focus on the content.

Broadcast & Streaming

Strategically add cameras to capture all content including keynote, panel discussions, podcast and Q&A.
Create TV-like production on site and hand Fox61 a ready-for-air live stream.
Direct cameras and content, creatively switching for the most engaging live stream possible.

Creative & Technical Consulting

Work collaboratively with Rebellion Group and Fox61 to ensure high quality video production.
Provide thoughtful input to room layout, crowd flow, and seating plans.
